Looking for Emergency Dental Care?

Unless you have Insurance at the time of the emergency, it is usually not an option. But there are options that will save you money and get you seen by a reliable Dentist when a painful emergency occurs. With a Discount Plan you can see the Dentist the same or next day, if there is an on-going condition.

How Dental Insurance works:

Discount Plans has been around for a long time, but many consumers do not understand the difference between discounted plans and insurance. With insurance the patient pays a monthly premium, typically $50 – $150 or more per month. Once the dental procedures are completed the dental office usually bills the dental insurance company for payment. The insured client usually will have a deductible of $100 or more which must be paid out before the Insurance Company pays. After the deductible is paid, dental insurance companies usually pay 50-80% on preventative and restorative dentistry.

With insurance there are usually exemptions, where certain types of costly procedures are no covered, such as braces or cosmetic procedures. On specific dental procedures the may be waiting periods. (eg dental crowns, roort canals). Dental Insurance is limited by annual caps on dental services you can receive. Without limits, exclusions and caps on the dental services the Dental Insurance Company would quickly go out of buisness.

A Better Option:

One of the options to consumers is the Discount Plan. Certain companies are now jumping on board the dental discount wagon by offer these types of plans too. With discounted dental plans the member pays less. Discounted Dental Plans have a network of private paractice Dentists who are willing to provide a discount to plan members.

What’s in it for a Dentist to give a discount for their services? They are willing to provide them because the participating member, pays the agreed fee at the time of service. At the Dental Office the discount dental plan member typically pays on the spot unless other arrangements are mad ahead of time. There is no paperwork. The Dentist saves on advetising because the Dental Discount Plan Company sends patients to the Dental Office.

Dentists are willing to provide discounts from 25-80% to dental plan members. The exact amount depends on the treatment. Bottom line with these plans, the Dentist and member both win.

Options for Emergency Dental Care Service:

1. Investigate Discount Dental Work with no waiting period.
2. Contact an Emergency Dentist in your area for a visit.
3. Some Dentists are open on Saturday for dental emergency patients. On Sunday you may have to go the the Hospital or wait till Monday.
